A SAILING, EXPERIENCE ON THE LAND.
Anegada Beach Club is an oasis on a remote island in the British Virgin Islands. The resort features uniquely designed beach front luxury tents, raised above the dunes overlooking a pristine, powder sand beach, which stretches uninterrupted for miles around the island. Traditionally the British Virgin Islands focuses on sailing, wind and water sports, we wanted to design something that was very light and inspired by the local culture and sports, moving away from the typical styles, without losing its essence.
The result was a slightly nautical design, each tent resembles a sailing boat from the edge of the beach, making the guests feel as if they where in the water. The interior of the cabins and custom furniture design was inspired in the island lobsters, known to be the best in the world.
THE INITIAL PROJECT.
Simplemente Madera initially supplied all room furniture for Anegada Beach Hotel, as well as fabricating and installing thatched Palapa style structures for public spaces. Phase two of the ABC hotel development was a complete turnkey solution which included the design, engineering, prefabrication, interior design, shipping and installation of 7 cabins, fully equipped with water systems (including solar hot water), electrical systems, custom furniture. Phase two also included the surf shack and beach bar, making it a complete beach front glamping experience. Phase three of the project was delivered in 2017 and included the beach front double room glamping villas, that where designed with each bedroom in a separate tent and joined by a common deck.
